New Battery Break In Advice
I just installed a new set of batteries and scottyb cables and have a few questions. The batteries are Interstate batteries and I have a 400amp Alltrax with 2 ga cables. The batteries have not been charged and I have a pack voltage of 50.4V. I am going to follow scottyb's break in procedure but it isn't clear on if I should charge these or not. I need the cart tomorrow. Any advice??

Re: New Battery Break In Advice
Will do. The write-up was confusing to me because it said to charge them at 75%. I thought I would get you guys opinion. But I have to say these cables from scottyb are all that everyone says they are. By far the best I have ever seen.
Does anyone know what kind of speed I should expect from this cart? I am running 22" tires. |

Re: New Battery Break In Advice
I didn't get the battery meter when I got the cables. I am going to order it in the AM. I took the cart for a quick spin (Thought I was supposed to get batteries to 75%) and by GPS all I got was 15mph. I was hoping for more but the batteries are supposed to get stronger. The torque has probly doubled.

Re: New Battery Break In Advice
You are experiencing severe voltage drop under load. Get those batts charged up and try again. 15 mph is too slow for that setup.

Re: New Battery Break In Advice
Well 15mph felt plenty fast coming from a 36v setup with 2 bad batteries. That topped out about 8mph or so. But the batteries are being charged now and I will leave the charger on all night. The charger I have is a Lestronic, is this a good charger? Seems to be new or not used much at all.

I am running a stock motor now. Is running 48v through it going to damage it? I might go to a plum quick motor this summer.
