Re: Charger just clicks
No, leave them connected.
If your using a 12V charger go from the - post on one to the + post on the next on. I'm not sure what kind of cart you have, but here is how to do it on a TXT and Medalist. |

Re: Charger just clicks
I am just curious, but if the relay in the charger is clicking, doesnt that mean the charger is reading enough voltage from the pack?

Re: Charger just clicks
Yes, has to be about 28-30V to turn on a 36V golf cart charger.
Batteries have probably set a month or so since this thread was initiated, so they probably not clicking relay in charger now. |

Re: Charger just clicks
A couple of weeks ago, I finally decided to tackle this issue here. So, I pulled the cart and charger back out and connected everything to see what was happening. Only difference this time was I took the seat off. Low and behold when the charger clicked, it sparked the positive battery terminal where the charger lead comes in. I unplugged everything and tried the cables and they were loose. I tightened the cables and plugged the charger back in and everything worked as it should.
Moral to the story: always apply the KISS principle. Thanks to all that gave me suggestions as to what it might be. |
