Default 12 volt battery add on

i have a 08 ezgo and have put a 12 volt lawn battery add on for lights and a audio system later. the battery cost 19.00. it is on its own power. i charge it up when my lights start getting a little dim. it is not connected to the carts batteries at all. this has been working well. just with the lights. i am not sure how it will work with audio and lights. but it works for me. i can spend 19.00 for another lawn mower battery instead of a lot of money on cart batteries.

Great idea. How long does it last with just the lights?

The lawn mower battery is a wet cell (lead & acid) battery, They want to be kept charged up ALL the time for the longest useful life.
Get a solar charger or some type of daily recharge system for the best results.

does anyone know how many amps a power wheels type battery puts out? i know you can buy recycled ups batts for about $15-20 and they are sealed, and they are the same thing.

small SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) batteries like the ones for powerwheels are 6v or 12v and are in the 5-10ah range. They do well with running down then recharing jsut like big deepcycle. They just have ALOT less capacity.

I plan on getting a 12v SLA battery frm Gruberpower.com. I can get a small 12v 35ah battery that will fit in the dash pocket on my DS and its only $60. At 10 amps it will power my radio for about 4-5 hours which is plenty for me. plus i dont this my stereo with no extra amp will pull 10 amps, maybe like 5 i think.
