Default 93 Marathon no go

I have a 93 Marathon that stoped running. Grandkids ran through water puddle an cart stopped working. Tested pot box reads 0-7500 ohms. Tested solenoid 36.8v on battery side , depressed peddle voltage goes to full bat voltage. With B- hookedup & pos lead to controller side of solenoid voltage reads full bat pack, when you release the peddle the voltage gradually decreases to 0 like a capacitor discharging. also reading from b- to m- reading goes from 0 to full volt and stays at full voltage, does not decrease. Resistor & diode has been removed by previous owner. Wil be installing new ones. Checked all batteries & leads clean & replaced bad ones. Would appreciate any help. Also how can you test run motor.

Unhappy Re: 93 Marathon no go

I have a 1990 Marathon that is also a "no go". I have not yet measured all the test points that the original poster did but the voltage is getting through the solenoid. When the accelerator is pressed the only thing that happens is a click sound in the vicinity of the solenoid.

I would appreciate any hints or tips on how best to diagnose the problem. I have another cart that is the same year (serial number only 2 different value than the problem cart) and I have been comparing voltage and resistance values and have not found any differences yet.

Help will be greatly appreciated.

Default Re: 93 Marathon no go

Have you guys checked voltage going into and out of(with the pedal pressed) the forward/reverse switch?
I had to pull the switch out and clean it up because I had the same symptoms as you're having.
