slow speed cruising
I bought a 2007 pds 36 volt EZGO for using at our campground. They have a strict 5 mph rule, and I was told by another camper that slow speed cruising is not good for this cart. He said that it will overheat the motor. I only travel about 1 mile at a time, am I in trouble? if so, what are my options. thanks in advance

Re: slow speed cruising
I wouldn't think you would have any issues from a sparky. Now the gassers are air cooled so they may tend to get hotter at real slow speeds.

Re: slow speed cruising
If it is a lifted cart you may have problems with the controller overheating but, in my opinion, not the motor. If the controller overheats it will go into "limp" mode. This cuts the power to the controller to prevent if from melting down. When it does this the cart will run very slow. If you stop for a few minutes and let it cool it will resume normally speed again.
If you do start having this problem you can replace the controller with a 300A Alltrax which will handle this driving condition much better than the stock controller. If the cart has stock size tires this should not be an issue. http://www.jasonsgolfcarts.com/300_A...-dcx300pds.htm |

Re: slow speed cruising
Same 5mph rule where I camp. My lifted 36v TXT hasnt had any issues, and this summer we had a record # of 90*+ days. Sometimes run mine for 30min or more.

Re: slow speed cruising
Windoze 7 here as well.
It has to be the left Alt, and the number pad, not the numbers above the letters. Old ASCII. Hold the alt, then hit the numbers one at a time, then release the Alt. |
