Large Head Rivets
Hi everyone. I picked up a 1997 TXT gas that had been hit in the rear by someone backing up in a pickup. I found a straight frame from an electric model, and welded the rear section onto mine yesterday. Everything is nice and straight now.
What I'm looking for are the large head rivets to put the floor pans back on after I clean and paint the frame and pans. Does anyone have a source for them? I bought a body rivet kit, but it doesn't have the pan ones. Thank, this site has been a big help. |

Re: Large Head Rivets
I think I have seen the drive in type rivets in the local hardware store (Ace in my case). They are the ones you place in the hole and smack the pin in the center which swells the rivet into the hole. You could also give the site sponsors a shot.

Re: Large Head Rivets
I believe the floor pans are attached with a conventional 5/32 x 5/8 steel rivet

Re: Large Head Rivets
They were attached with large head aluminum rivets. You can still see the outlines from where the heads were, and there's still a few remnants left in a few of the holes.
All I could find from the site sponsors are body panel kits. I found some on ebay that will probably work. Thanks for the help. |

Try a snowmobile shop or catalog "Dennis Kirk" or McMaster Carr.

Fastenal would have any type of fasteners you could ever need. It's where the manufacturers get them.
