Default Exhaust two stroke marathon

I was curious if someone could post a pic of what is connected to your muffler exhaust end if can. I BBQ my muffler early in the summer, have what looks like a homemade exhaust pipe connected to muffler exhausting out under the baggage well. Seems like flexible conduit with another small muffler in the middle, removed it all and she runs like a champ. Is this extra pipe needed, what's it for. I destroyed it removing it.

Thanks

It is probably detrimental to extend the pipe as you really don't want to increase the back pressure on the exhaust. You should have just a short pipe out from the muffler. Just Google Image 2PG muffler and you will see a plethora of images.

Daves right, the muffler proves the right amount of back pressure as built.
if you extend it use a larger pipe. The po was probably trying to cut down the crackle two stokes have.

The length and diameter off the tail pipe or stinger as they are called on a 2 stroke are tuned to the rpm range the engine was designed to run in, any change to those dimensions or shape will have an affect on the performance.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info and input. So as is, exhaust just is spewing directly under driver side butt. Normal? I can't believe how much better this cart runs now without extra pipe. Need to deal with governor to slow it down a bit.

No reason to slow it down, you'll only want to speed it back up after a while. Yet get used to power and speed.
