Pinion seal question
1981 marathon. I've noticed that I have fluid leaking out of the front of the differential where the clutch is mounted. I've done some reading and apparently the closest thing I can find to a replacement is ezgo part #14113-G1. But from what I can tell it is made for 83 to 86 1/2. Does anyone have any knowledge on this part? Is there any chance that this would fit my 1981? Or do I need to look for a different part number as my cart is older? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you put a new driven clutch on? If so the new one should've had a metal bushing on it. That is the seal. If you have your old one you can take it off and put it on the new clutch.

Re: Pinion seal question
Just snapped this pic from the underside of the differential (looking up at the belly). 1fast67, it has leaked like this as long as I've owned it. I recently removed the clutch because it was seized, went ahead and cleaned everything up and put it back on the cart for use. I didn't notice any leftover parts after I reinstalled the clutch. However, does anyone have a pic of this bushing?

Here's the pictures of the clutch. The one with the screwdriver is the seal im talking about. If somebody before you replaced the clutch and didnt put that seal on it will leak.

Re: Pinion seal question
The only seal on the diff input runs on the OD of the clutch. Hope this helps... The fluid could creep up the splines and leak out the bolt that holds it on, but that doesn't appear to be where your leak was.

Re: Pinion seal question
So, I have exhausted all resources that I am aware of in locating the part or parts needed in fixing my leak. To date, I have contacted 11 different outfits, retailers, wholesalers, and suppliers thus far. Does anyone have any other ideas? I really want to find a fix to this leak, and I really don't want to have to replace the rear end just because of a leak. Although it seems complete replacement would just be easier at this point. It may seem like overkill but the part that I need apparently does not exist anymore.

Did you pull the driven clutch off to see if it was missing? When I got my new driven clutch it came with a new one installed. Let me know what you find out.
