Default 1989 marathon. Other ezgo engines?

Got a 1989 marathon 2 stroke. No axle or motor. Can a 2 pg or else bolt up. Anyone done this. I'm asking cuz this is a cheap parts cart I bought with an excellent body.

You could get the entire swing-arm section complete with motor, axle, accessories from an earlier cart, and bolt it in.

That's what I'm thinking. I guess I just need to personally inspect other carts that age etc and see what's similar.

The Marathon-Chassis is pretty much the same from late-70s' thru Early 94'.The Electrics are all Leaf-Spring rear-suspension,The Gassers are Coil-Spring rear.In 89' They switched the drive configuration to a front-to rear design,as to the earlier sideways-drive system.89' or 90' was the first year of 4-strokes,and also a Transmission in the axle, since the 2-strokes could run in reverse, they did not need one.Hope this helps.

Yes that helps greatly. I have a 91 2 stroke that needed an transaxle and found a 89 with one so I'm hoping to find something for this 89 motor and tranny wise!
