Re: Can't get 82 Gas to start
It seemed like it was running better, the smoke has subsided quite a bit. I had a mechanic come take a look at it with me yesterday and we tore apart the drive clutch. Thanks to a video someone posted on another thread here, I was able to see how a drive clutch should work, and mine is so loose its not fully engaging. I took the exhaust off again and took a look at the piston, it looks very close to the one in link, but I def could be wrong. Later, I'll take a video of it moving and post it up somewhere. Thank you all for your help, can I buy y'all a couple beers?

Looks ok. Must have been a reflection, or a dark spot in the first photo.

Re: Can't get 82 Gas to start
The saga continues, lol. I got the new drive clutch in today and we went ahead and installed it. It's still not fully engaging and I just can't figure out why. When I floor it, the belt doesn't seem to ride up as far as I thought it would, so I'm still not even hitting 10mph. It doesn't make it halfway up the drive clutch. Is there anything I'm forgetting or overlooking?

It appears to be 1 1/8" x 45" and I have no idea of the exact age, but I do have 2. I'm gonna give the EZGO dealer here in town a call and see what they have in stock a well.

While a shorter belt may not be what you need, I think you'll find that your belt is supposed to be 1 3/16. If it'sworn too narrow it ccan't hook up and won't drive the sheaves open all the way. |

Re: Can't get 82 Gas to start
Well, I got a Dayco hp3004 belt that should be here tomorrow. In the meantime, I've tried to get a couple people out to look at it, and being Vegas, they're flakes. So far my only option is to rent a trailer and take it in to Vegas carts and performance, but moneys a little tight right now. Any other options? Should I try to take a video of it running for better analysis?
