EZGO F398 Battery Questions...
Just purchased yesterday and know very little after a few hours of study. From what I have garnered, it appears I have a 1998 w/36v system. That said, why do I have 6, 8v. batteries??? All the batteries are shot, but the cart is in really nice shape, appearance wise. Just curious if this rig has been monkeyed with?

Sounds like it has been upgraded to 48V for more speed and torque.
That means the controller has been replaced also. Is the label on the controller visible? If so, what is it? |

Arrrrgg! Thanks for the reply! I assume the controller is the box beneath the solenoid? If so, the sticker is not readable...it has a 1-2-3 on the spade terminals, and an A2 off to the side. While looking further, the motor is an Advance DC motor, W80097...and it says 36/48v

Yep, controller is the box under the solenoid.
Is the case black or is it blue and white? Also, only three spade terminals on top. With or without wires attached. |

Re: EZGO F398 Battery Questions...
Not sure what the controller is. Attach a picture of it and somebody ought to be able to identify it.
Probably a stock series drive motor. Motors are not very voltage specific and motors rated at 36V typically run better at 48V. In fact, upping the battery pack voltage is the only way to increase both speed and torque without changing the motor. Hopefully a 48V charger came with cart. |
