Default EZGO Controller

I have a 97 Series model that runs for several days then won't run. Can a controller be intermitantly bad then good? This time I have no activation voltage to the solenoid. The previous time the solenoid activated but still no go. Last time I removed the ITS and cleaned it out and things worked for 4 days. I have voltage from the charger plug and the micro switches all check out as does the solenoid with the ohm meter. I can jump the solenoid and it closes. I have a cheap VOM so I can't be certain the voltages are correct when I follow the troubleshooting guide but the voltage is there and in the ballpark. When it was running there was an occasional speed variation at high speed which makes me suspect the controller. Thanks in advance for your help.

Give EVERY large cable a good tug and twist, especially if they are OEM 6g from 1997. Make sure you test the ones that go down to the motor itself. Does this cart have a RUN/TOW switch on the controller cover under the passenger seat?

Controllers USUALLY just stop working on series carts. USUALLY, but that doesn't mean they all do. Does your reverse alarm work? Does it work when you have this trouble?

Yes the reverse alarm keeps working. I am going to clean the connections on the motor, they look OK but a little clean up with the dremel can't hurt. I cleaned up most of the other connections but not those.

Thank you for the help and advice. It is running again for the second day so I might have gotten a break. At least I am not thinking I need a new controller when the voltage is gone

Just a tip, if you are cleaning terminals, make sure you take them apart and clean the mating surfaces too. Cleaning just the outside only makes them LOOK better. Also, on the motor terminals make sure you use 2 wrenches, one on each nut, so the terminal does not spin in the motor case.
