89 marathon coupler on motor not the issue 36 volt
I stepped on the gas petal to release the brake with the key on and a noise came from the motor area , sounded like zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Now everytime you step on the gas petal the golf cart won't move just zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I thought I might of damaged the coupler on the motor but put a new one on and still zzzzzzzzzzzzzz No go . Now looks like I have to get into the rearend anyone have any idea what might of happen ? Thanks for any help !

Try stepping on the pedal while you look at the axle nuts in the middle of the wheel and see if they go around zzzzzzz. Although they sound more of a grrrrrrr
If so then you stripped a hub whichever side axle is spinning inside the splined brake drum. It is also possible to srip the spline on the inside end of the axle but check the above first. Barna |

No biggie Tim,I'm glad we found it. You will need to get a brake drum and tighten that nut properly (which I don't know what the proper torque is but you will have to align the cotter pin hole anyway which kind of throws the correct torque out the window anyhow. What do they say tight is tight?)

Re: 89 marathon coupler on motor not the issue 36 volt
Proper torque is 100-140 Ft Pounds
Never back the nut off to get the cotter pin alignment, just go tighter. |
