Default 2007 EZGO txt 36v series microswitch question

Cart stopped suddenly when kids were riding..no forward or reverse, but buzzer sounded in reverse. After basic inspection, only way i could get the cart to move was to jump large terminals on solenoid.Figured it was bad.. Got a new solenoid and replaced, still no go! Solenoid was not clicking, so i searched further. Found microswitch in pedal box was faulty, replaced and tried, and toasted small red wire to solenoid, and blew that micro too. WTH??? Controller or f/r switch????

Welcome to BGW!

Sounds like the diode got installed backwards on new solenoid.

Banded end goes on small terminals with red (+) wires attached.

Note: bad pedal switch was probably original problem.

Cart was running when it stopped.

Damaged wires (possibly between the peddle box and solenoid) or diode failed in closed condition?

IN any case you are looking for a dead short.

Most likely the rewiring eliminated the problem... those micro switches burn like little fuses when there's a short.
