Did You happen to take any pictures so we can see how the deformed contact looks like?
Typically the failure we have seen on those is the bottom contacts never close and the two coils in series do not provide enough magnetic strength to pull the plunger. |

I still have it - I will try to take a picture showing the plunger. It's easy to see if you remove the cap over the plunger end (end away from the contacts). The bottom contacts also look fine - and there is a small capacitor across them to reduce sparking. The pull-in coil is toast though. It's only 3 ohms.
