Is solonoid change absolutely necessary?

The advantage on the 400 is that you wont burn the stock motor as faster as on the 500.
Seriously, stock motor don't go over dcx400, even if any dealer suggest it. The stock motors handles very well the 400 on either 36 or 48v. The 500 is overkill.
