Re: half way down on the pedal the motor dies
update, after charging for a wile and with the charger hooked up, i've got 44.6v, check the selaniod has a 3v drop (good). still cuts off at half way and at 40.2v (charger hooked up). so if its cutting out at 40v (charger on) and at 27v (charger off) then probably not the controller at faught here, or at least not cutting of due to low voltage.
the open that i read on the pot between 4.0k and 4.2k, could this be the culprit? wouldn't it just pick right up once it hits 4.2k and up? |

i'll check that. that makes more sence to me also. that controller cutting out due to resistance instead of voltage. |

Re: half way down on the pedal the motor dies
The fact that you see the fluctuations when depressing the pedal is not good. The pot should give a smooth rise from 0 to 5000k (4500 - 5500). I don't believe your cart is cutting out because of the 0 reading you get temporarily when pushing down on the pedal. It is shutting off because it sees more then 6000.

Re: half way down on the pedal the motor dies
If you get the correct pot then you really shouldn't have to adjust the linkage to stop at whatever the max resistance is. The pot should top out at 5000k plus or minus 10% (4500 to 5500). The place to start is at the 0 ohm position. With the hill brake applied you should see 0 ohm till the hill brake kicks off and then a nice steady climb till it reaches max output. The pedal should be real close to full stroke.
