Where to recycle old batteries and how much $$ do you get
This does not neccessarily pertain just to EZGO's but all electric carts in general. I have 19 old golf cart batteries laying around that I want to get rid of for the $9 core they give you back for each one. Who takes the old batteries for recycling? What's the core $$ amount up to now?

Do you turn them into an auto parts store, SAMS or a recycling center?

I know that is low. That is what we get from the recyclers roaming around here. Consider this is the strictest Environmental Protection state in the union, there are few places which can handle the lead acid batteries any more..... You may get twice that if you find a recycler near you who can take them? Google it

Re: Where to recycle old batteries and how much $$ do you get
The people you buy your new ones from should take the old ones at the time of purchase! If not, they will still take them and give you a core deposit. Core charge in Dallas is $15.00 / GC battery and $10.00 / Auto battery...

Thank you for answering my questions Scotty and Mike! It's about time I get rid of these batteries that are sitting out there in my driveway leaking acid everywhere.

Better hope the EPA doesn't see that post - you might just be excavating it and HazMat all over your property!

i just took in 6 golf cart batts to a battery shop here in L.A. they paid 7 dollars a battery. call around and see what the going rate is. could make a nice chunk of change even at $7 dollars a battery times 19.
