The most commonly used resistors are 240-270 ohms for 36 volts and 470 ohms for 48 volts.

for my 2005 precident cart
my previous "stock" curtis controller 48 volt used a 220 ohm resistor

while on the same cart the Alltrex 48 volt uses a 470 ohm resistor

so my advise is to always check your controllers specs....
(who knows maybe someone installed the wrong resistor by mistake and that what i bought second hand)

OK Guys, I got the diode installed and it did vastly reduce the jerkiness of the throttle. Gave it the ultimate test, my 12 YO daughter who loves driving the cart but had great difficulty getting it to go from a stop without a jerky, stuttering start. She had no issues after and tried at least 10 times.
