4 12s to 6 8s change obc or not?
Haven't pulled the triger yet, still trying to figure it all out.
Searching and reading about converting the 4 12 volt batteries to 6 8 volt batteries I find some comments stating it is not necessary to replace the obc and other comments that state if you don't upgrade obc to latest version then you won't get a full charge on your battery pack which could shorten the life of the pack. Anyone know for sure? |

Yep. I know for sure. Change it. Otherwise you'll never experience a good solid full charge.

What would be an estimated cost (less batteries ) for a dealer to do this conversion? I am thinking of converting my 2007 Precedent when the current set of batteries die.

I can't discuss pricing on this page due to my lack of sponsorship. I suggest asking a site sponsor.

For a first timer I'd estimate 3-4 hours. A dealer should be able to do it in a couple of hours.

I've got a question on this. I have seen and read many posts about needing to change the OBC. Here's what I'd like to know. Since you are increasing the capacity of the battery pack, wouldn't you just have to increase the charge time if you kept your original OBC?

Is OBC version 3.0 good enough? If not which version?
Thanks, Tom |

3.0 is for 12s in the old bucket. You want 5.3
