Did a little painting on my limo project.
Not shabby for first time painting.

Sweet
Metal flake is not easy to spray. Ask me how I know😊
Do you have clear coat on top that you can wet sand and buff?
Nice looking job👍

I do have clear on it. I was thinking of adding a couple more layers of it this weekend. I like the way it turned out though.

Think I will be fine adding a couple more layers of clear coat after a week?

Kofifi - Check with the paint manufacturer to see what their recommended mils (thickness) are. They should be able to give you a ballpark number how many mils each coat of clear is.
If you go to thick it will eventually check or crack as it looses flexibility.
I might be a little outdated but there is a mil gauge that can measure the thickness but it only works on metal surfaces that are painted as it uses a magnet.

If you are below manufacturer recommendations and add a couple more coats make sure to sand or scuff the surface with a fine abrasive such as 1200 grit sand paper to give the new clear something to bite into.

Good luck

Listen to Sideways.
Each paint manufacturer has different specs on using there products. I use mostly Sherman Williams. Occasionally house of color. They will recommend how to prep and apply additional coats after curing if needed
Regardless start off fine a grit as you can. Go slow. Same when buffing.
Depending on how many coats were applied, personally would not add more till sure it was needed.

Sand and buff an area that if you mess up will not be notice, and easily respaired if needed. ( rocker panel, below rear seat) a place that can be taped off and restarted from scratch so not noticeable.

Discovered the hard way, if you do cut thru clear and hit metallic particles, they will turn dull grey and can’t be repaired🤭

What paint system did you use? Knowing that may be helpful on getting feedback😊

I installed one of these today. So far I really like it. I have gone on 2-3 runs and its solid and holds the phone well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
