Thanks Volt_Amp. I agree that a series circuit presents a single resistance path so each cell is exposed to the same amp flow. Still, having a single battery (not cell), of the same age as the other batteries gassing as an unusually high rate while gassing seems to be progressively less with each battery from left to right is an odd situation.
I checked S.G. in all 24 cells after charging and all read very close to the same 12.75, so I don't see obvious cell damage. Load testing shows all batteries can take a load, but I'll test voltage, S.G. and load readings again after a ten mile run today. Functionally and operationally, nothing seems out of order. range, speed both seem normal to what I have come to expect, it's just that the gassing has me scratching my head. Regards, Tom T |
