Two clunks on take off and braking issue
Hello all from roasting hot Kuwait!
I have a fleet of YDRE 4 seater yammy cars. So far so good. I have two issues now however: When I take off there are two definite clunks coming from the rear of the buggy. Hopefully it is just a few spanners worth of tightening any ideas? Secondly. Brakes. We take passengers on our buggies and at low tide the bridge can be quite steep. I have noticed that the brakes need further depressed. Brakes are linked to the diff, but can I take up the brake cable slack easily? Any help or points to previous heads much appreciated. Cheers Ecosset4 |

Brake cable can be adjusted under the floor mat at the pedals.

Re: Two clunks on take off and braking issue
The common noise makers on that axle are the motor coupler->Input shaft splines, and the notorious soft gear in the "white-tag" axle.

Re: Two clunks on take off and braking issue
Thanks CG.
Embarissingly it was a fire extinguisher under the front seat that was rolling around unsecured! However it does highlight to me that our supplier was pretty unhelpful (as many of them are out here) thus I want to make our own maintenence regime. I am looking for work shop manuals. On site I have access to over 100 mechanics that keep a fleet of boats, catepillar bell dumpers, diggers excavators bobcats all running 365 days a year, so a manual would be useful. Any information would be great. Off to hide my head in shame Ecosset4 |

Re: Two clunks on take off and braking issue
The manual is about $90 from a dealer, and a good idea to get. I must add, the yamaha manual has an error in it about the throttle type and throttle diagnostic procedure. It treats the throttle the same as the prior G22-style "0-5k ohm". The new type is "0-5v".

Re: Two clunks on take off and braking issue
Thanks for this.
I have asked our dealer for the manual and he looked at me like I was a stranger....which I guess I am in Kuwait! It would appear they would rather just keep this info for them selves after all everyone of their other customers just calls them!!!!! Oh well will find on line as I have another issue I am about to post! Ecosset4 |
