Belt slipping going uphill
Have a question that has probably come up before. I have a 1993 club car ds that I rebuilt myself. New piston, bored cylinder, and all the other goodies. I installed a Jakes 6" lift with tires and rims. I have a huge problem going uphill with just myself in the cart. I've read bad clutches could be the issue, but I've also read poor belts (made in China) would also cause this slippage.
Any ideas or suggestions? Visually, the clutches seem fine when put into service mode and ran. But when you go up a hill, you hear this loud sceeching noise. It will eventually make it, but very slowly. Thanks |

Re: Belt slipping going uphill
I just read about an upgraded power spring? Any feedback on this?

Re: Belt slipping going uphill
I'd hold off on the clutch spring(s)... Check the distance (center to center) of your clutches, it should be 9 5/8",
If that's on the money, then I bet a severe duty drive belt would work for you! https://www.cartpartsplus.com/perfor...car-drive-belt |
