Programming Yamaha G29
Does anyone have the technical specifications for the program connector on a G29 controller?
The cart had a crap Moric controller, and that was replaced with a GE FX503G027 controller, but the dealer can't get the Yamaha standard communications stuff to talk to the GE controller. So, a few questions: Should a replacement controller be comatabile with Yamaha program stuff? If the GE isn't compatabile with the Yamaha stuff, does anyone have specs for the GE serial connection? I should be able to fabricate a cable as required if I can get the specs on the interface. |

Re: Programming Yamaha G29
aftermarket GE controllers wont work with the actual yamaha programmer. some factory G22 controllers were GE controllers. i dont know the communications protocol, but the connection was originally made with Ir Leds so power levels were low.

Re: Programming Yamaha G29
Thanks.....I thought as much.
So, what are my options to program a GE controller? The pinout specifies rs-232 pinouts, so a cable can be fabricated, but what about the protocol to communicate with the controller?? Can anyone help? |

Re: Programming Yamaha G29
unfortunately I think those are the secrets that Ge & fsip & others are bound by our friends "the copyright lawyers" to not share... made to be un-hack-abe, not as popular as Iphone, so still un-hacked.

Re: Programming Yamaha G29
FSIP pointed me to this site:
http://www.forklift-electronics.com/sentry.htm which has the programs needed to work with GE controllers......they're checking if the code will work with the replacement controll that I have, and if I can fabricate a cable for the RS-232 connection. I'll post the results when I get them. |
