Default fix tear in vinyl seat

I've got my 2000 G19E torn down to paint the body right now. I plan on vinyl spraying the seats to change the color but I have a 2" long tear in the drivers side front corner of the seat. I'm looking for ideas on how to fix it before I paint. Do the vinyl repair kits work or should I be looking at something else?

I would be looking at seat vinyl kits, a razor knife, and a staple gun.

For the 45 or so it cost to replace I have to agree, you should be looking at a replacement cover in the color you want.

A repair will never last and it will look crummy.

Fair enough. Can anyone point me to a vendor that has seat covers? My cart has a rear seat which is aftermarket, are they somewhat universal or do I have to figure out the brand name?

All seats have been reupholstered. I'm much happier with the results than I think I would have been trying to repair what was there. $65 all in for the materials and a couple hours of work. thanks all for the advice.
