Default Need to reprogram charger?

I have a 2008 Summit LSV. The batteries that came with the LSV need replacing. I am thinking of buying Interstate 6v batteries from Costco. The present batteries are not Interstates.

Do I need to re-program the charger if I put new 6v Interstate batteries in?

If so, where could I find that information?

Thank you.

Depends which batteries you are replacing. If original US2200, then the interstate will be fine with the original programming. If something different, you would want to consider.

Let's see how it is programmed now...

Make sure you can see the face of the charger, where the LED's are located.
Disconnect the charger B+ at the batter pack.
Plug the charger into the AC power.
Look at the LED codes. They will flash to indicate which algorithm is programmed in the charger. (If algorithm 1-6, one of the top LED's will blink. If above 6, count the flash on the lower yellow LED. It will blink for how it is programmed. For example, #11 would be one flash, short pause, one flash, long pause. #26 would be two flashes, short pause, six flashes then long pause)

Here's the manual for the charger, and a sheet on how to change the charger algorithm yourself if needed.

Not pertaining to your charger reprogramming, BUT: These drawings may be helpful, with the many models referenced; and they may be exactly what you need for future trouble shooting. They match the Columbia Par Car I have to work on, exactly, including contols and lighting. Good Luck.

Pingeye, he has a 2008 so only the third one may apply to his vehicle. Most of the others are from the 96-2000 manual. Glad to see you have them though to share.

Hi TS, I thought you might comment on them, thank you for checking them out and letting YH52 know what pertains. Some of that stuff for Columbia is hard to find so I thought I would post knowing that you would see them. Thanks.

PingEye3,
Thank you for contributing those schematics!

Another question:
Are there any precautions I should take in the process of replacing the Lead Acid batteries?
I would like to do it myself if possible. Thanks!
