Default Workhorse Throttle Cable Adjustment

Just installed my rebuilt engine in my cart and think the the accellerator cable needs adjustment. How much play should be in the cable when there is no pressure applied to the pedal? Should it just be snug? I don't think I'm getting my true top end. Oh yea....how long do I have to baby this thing and how long should I run it before I change the oil on a fresh rebuild? Thanks,Ed

I would sure just baby it as long as I could stand it Just keep thinking of all those little metal pieces meshing together .... On the throttle (with the key off) just put the peddle to the floor and then by hand see if the throttle body on the carb will open any more? Some slack is neccessary.... Congrats on a successful rebuild

there's a thread about adjusting the tech section
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/ezgo-...ntainance.html
There is also adjustments on the rods that run beside the engine to help with getting that right

I tried looking up what ezgo suggests but got tired of reading, anyway I run them for about 25 hrs before changing oil.
It may help to read this, don't be afraid to run the engine. many people just putt around and that's about the worst thing you could do. I generally don't let people see me brake in engine i've rebuilt cause they think i'm to hard on them.

That was a good read. Thanks ..... those bike guys are dumping the first oil after 4 15 minute rides..... But more importantly is the reccommendation of good quality 30w oil... A good read for anyone interested
