I'm guessing that date is right too (70899G01) , also a late 2001, definitely newer than 2001.5 by the newer steering mounted on axle.

The "G01" at the end of a part number is very common on EZ-Go parts. I don't believe it signifies anything other than EZ-Go OEM parts.
