Cylinder Head Temp Gauge
Does anyone know a reasonably price CHT gauge with a spark plug sender? I believe keeping track of the head temp on a speed modified golf cart engine is an added safety factor to prevent overheating.

Re: Cylinder Head Temp Gauge
I looked hard into that a while back. Those thermo couplers are not cheap. I ended up just using the "liquid" sending unit that came with the gauge pack and mounted it in the fins on one of the heads. It is slow in response, but it does work. Check out some of the ultralight sites, they are big into that stuff........

Re: Cylinder Head Temp Gauge
Hey flint, what kind of temps do you see with yours?
Are you using a sending unit for water temps? Do you think it is better to watch the cylinder head temp or oil temp? Would the oil temp tell you the same thing? I want this for my cart as I am a firm believer on watching gauges as dum dum lights suck. |

Re: Cylinder Head Temp Gauge
Standard CHT guages go up to 340 degrees, mine is right by the header and usually stays around 220.
