I know of several carts with welded diff and it really works good still turns good. Better than expected. The traction control does not hold up to a big block.

Just looking at it, I can see why it wouldn't, I guess when I can finally go big block I'll have to do something different back there.

How hard is it for a novice to know what to weld to what once the cover is off?

Gotta weld up the spider gears... That about all I know... I think it would work fine on your cart...

i welded the rear in my cc, works great, i can go most places a atv can like that.. but i would love to be able to choose when it is on or off, ya know??

From the looks of the attached diagram, the spider gears would be #'s 38 and 39.

In my drag car I run a spool in the rear end. The spool takes out all of the moving parts and makes it one solid piece. For example in the diagram #'s 33, 37, 38 and 39 would be all one piece driving both axles equally.

I havent had one of these rears apart yet. I am baseing this info off of my race car knowledge and the attached diagram.
