Wire under engine?
Hi i am wondering if anyone know what the wire beside the oil drain plug is for i am asumming it is for some kind of oil switch? Where does it hooK Up 2?

G9's didn't have a low oil sensor. Maybe this is the problem with your other question. The oil sensor wire should be "black" and it would plug into the main wireharness "black/red" lead. I wouldn't worry about it right now. Here is something to try ...the negative battery cable attatches to the starter/generator brush end plate, cut the small 18 gauge wire off (where it is connected with the eye end), put your own eye end terminal on the small wire and reconnect it with the main negative battery cable connection stud. Make shure the bullit snap connector is connected to the wireharness "black" lead, not the "black/red lead". May not help, but it's a easy try....the Yamaha ignition's back then ran off "open/closed" grounding, so a bad ground...would act like it was out of time. Hope it works for you.
