G1 I think i give up!!
I have a 1981 or1982 g1 that will run if you put a little gas in the carb but then it has to be wide open and it will only idle it will not crank up. evey now and then it will crank up then dog back down. i checked the compression and it said about 119 psi i did pull the fuel line off at the carb side of the pump and cranked the cart over and it was kinda like a trickle im not sure how much gas that pump should pump out but im thinkin its not getting the amount of gas it needs. i have cleaned the carb checked all the fuel lines. is there any way the i can gravity feed this cart to get it running? i want to show my wife that i didnt buy a piece of junk i got 200 bucks in it i think if i put 300 more in it i can still make money on this cart.
Thanks for all your help. |

Re: G1 I think i give up!!
Sounds like you need crank case seals! Not expensive...around $25

Re: G1 I think i give up!!
There is a pressure line that comes from the block an goes to the bottom of the fuel pump. check this out it could be cracked.Easy check.Or sell it to me.

Re: G1 I think i give up!!
Good lord no.... You don't have to split the case. Search the forum for crank case removal. You can do this with the motor still in the cart.
Good luck! |

Re: G1 I think i give up!!
Lot of people put all new lines on the pump, a crack will cause it not to work. Cleaning the pump is next or rebuilding, or you can buy one they use on gokarts pretty cheap the little Mikuni for example. Also check the filter of course. It should spurt gas out on the starter no problem. Often bad seals require a lot of choke to start and bog a lot.
Also note these have a hard time getting the gas up if the tank is empty and you lose prime. Good idea to have half a tank or more, a full tank is nearly gravity feed. |
