G1 Body Work Question
I see some real nice G1's from you guys. My 85' G1 needs some body work (some small cracks and holes) and I was wondering what kind of body filler do you guys like to use. Any one better than the others? I had planned to run to the auto parts store and see what was on the shelf, but any input from you that have been there would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

Re: G1 Body Work Question
The rear body is fiberglass, so nay autobody supplies work. The front cowel is polypropalyn and takes differant materials. Which part you need to fix?

Re: G1 Body Work Question
Oh..gee I guess I realized it was fiberglass....so that would be a fiberglass repair kit.
It is mostly on the rear and sides, the front actually looks fine. Would I find the fiberglass kit at a marina or boat shop? Or what do you recommend? Thanks again. |

Re: G1 Body Work Question
Ok, the rear body. You can buy small fiberglass repair kits at any autoparts store. Make shure to do the repair from the "back side", get all the dirt and grease off the repair area and do it. The outer repair you can do with "Bondo". We want pictures of the repair, may help the next member I just can't beleive how many members are restoreing G1's...it's very cool!
