wierd electrical issue g1
Any time you touch the swing arm to the outer fram with a wrench or wire it sparks and blows the minus fuse
Any ideas of what may be wrong its an 83 g1 |

Sounds like you have a ground issue and something is causing a short. I would start tracing wires looking for any bare or exposed wiring.

Might check the 4 leads that come out of the engine that plug into the wireharness (passangerside at the back tof the engine) for a bare wire touching the frame.

Checked all the wires coming out of motor and traced some but didnt find any thing there .Started looking at the starter and messed with it . I found that if you unbolt the Starter from the swing arm things are fine but you put it back on and it has the short issue .And if you unhook f1 wire the short goes away
Could the starter/gen. be shorting out some how ,it seems to work ok |
