Not a drive gear no way would i weld them lol. Im talking about the 4 lil gears in the diff for the limited slip. If you weld them together then you have a (no pun intended) red neck posi track rear end.

oh ok yeah no need to heat treat them after welding. cause they dont move anymore. they been popping diff covers off cars and trucks for many years and welding them up for a cheep posi trac. And a car or truck has a whole lot more force on them gears. But i do much appriciate all your posts! Thanks again SmallBlock
