g22 front end problem
I installed a jakes 6" lift,12" wheels, I can not get the front end adjusted properly. its driving me crazy. i have done the for friends and never had these problems. i adjust the tie rod end and get it to where i think it needs to be then ride it down the street and come back and look and it has totally changed, also a quater turn sometimes will go from almost perfect to totally toed in. any suggestions on what i am doing wrong or the proper way to adjust.
thanks in advance |

Re: g22 front end problem
Can you take some pictures? Is the problem camber or toe in. I have seen G22 shocks/struts/cushions (what ever you want to call them) lose spring rate and will cause fits with camber and alighnment.

Re: g22 front end problem
my camera battery is dead so it will be a little bit before i can post a picture.
i guess,i am not sure if it is toe or camber.looking at the front of the cart, the front of the tires are closer together than the back of the front tires. as you ride it gets really eratic and hard to control. so i adjust it where it looks as though the tires are inline like they should be and ride it and it will be toed in or out really bad. its like it is cahnging after each ride by itself, i do tighten the jam nuts after each adjustment. |

Re: g22 front end problem
I think I figured it out, the drivers side shock was actually bad. When it would compress it would not return to its original state it stayed compressed until you backed up. So it was throwing all the adjustments off. I replaced the shock and so far so good.

Re: g22 front end problem
well, i thought i had it figured out. so i replaced the drivers side shock to fix the problem and it did for a little bit. after riding fo r a mile or to and parking it i noticed that it is toed out now.
this is driving me crazy now, i am at a total loss at this time, nothing is bent both shocks are fine, all jam nuts and bolts are tight on the entire front end. anybody else have any suggestions on why the toe in and toe out can change on its own after riding. it seems like something must be broke that i cant see or i am just stupid and cant figure this out. thanks in advance |
