Default driving thru tall grass and what kind of oil?

We took the 97 club car to the country- I was driving through some tall grass about 4 feet tall, it had been raining- and the cart fell either like a belt or wires had gotten wet- any suggestions on what to look at? it was kind of herkey jerkey for a bit

what ype of oil does these carts use? I have to write a primer for the relatives that are going to use the cart also

I drive through tall grass all the time, never had an issue. Although the grass usually isn't wet when I drive through it.

I am presuming this is not a reoccurring issue? If that is the case, I'm willing to bet the drive belts was wet.

That's probably what the herky-jerky was. Wet belt makes total sense.

Either letting the belt dry will fix this problem, or for the instant solution. I just go full speed for a little bit, friction does wonders to wet things....

I don't know why I didn't think of it, I drive through this creek at our campground and I used to plow through it at full bore, splashing water all over the belt and then I'd just gas it to run it dry, took about 50 feet and done. Now I just creep through the creek and it doesn't get wet in the first place.

Cool, this is first time for the cart in the country- I do not want inlaws to destroy it- the reason the grass is so high, Brother in law has blown up a craftsman with a 12.5 brigs a Bolens with a 18 hp brigs and tore the bearings out of a murrays deck
I have supplied them with starting instructions, operation manual and repair manual.
My wife thought it could be better to left them get used to it before we disable the reve limiter, reset the governor and adjust the gas pedal linkage
I had camo netting over it, listening for turkeys and it starting raining way to hard and the wind was going today, did not hear any turkeys

I have installed a battery cutoff switch, and thinking about a fuel cut off switch, if it would be advisable to run it empty so longer siting time like the winter would not sludge up the carb

If you don't empty the carb float bowl, a cutoff is a wasted effort. This would be a manual procedure, not automatic when you simply let it run out of fuel.

So is this advisable on gassers?

so I install the cutoff?

I am not sure how much the relatives will use the cart- so it could sit for 3 to 4 weeks at a time and in the winter it could sit ffor 6 weeks plus
thanks opinions are appreciated

If I were you, I would include Stabil as a regular gasoline additive and forget about it. If the gas is protected, there is no reason for a cutoff and a manual bowl emptying,
