1991 club car solenoid
I have a 1991 club car just rebuilt the engine and when I tried to start it nothing happend. Looked at all the wiring all good. The solenoid clicks when I hit the gas. From my understanding this means my solenoid is bad, correct? The solenoid does not match the original and I don't know where the wires go. Any pictures?

Re: 1991 club car solenoid
Is your battery fully charged? You should have 4 terminals on the solenoid. One large to Batt.+,One large to Starter/Gen.,1-small to pedal-switch,1-small to ground. If you take a test-lite or volt meter, and check the large terminal going to the starter, you should see battery voltage when the pedal is pressed. If you hear it click, and do not get power on that stud, the relay is bad.If you see voltage, even a liitle-bit,unhook the starter/gen wire and recheck. You may have the Starter wired wrong,or it could have a problem internally.Did you replace it with a Starter Solenoid for a car? This is a common mistake. It needs to be a Constant-Duty Solenoid,Replacement for the cart,or one like a Snow-Plow,Lift-Gate,or Eleectric-Hydraulic Pump uses.Hope this helps.
