Default 48 volt charger sparks

I have a 48 volt charger for my Yamaha. It is not a Yamaha chager (see attached pic).

All of a sudden when I put the charger in to charge at the outlet where the cord plugs in (bottom left of the picture) spark/fire comes out which damages the end of the cord.

Obviously this is dangerous and not I am not charging but any advice on the likely cause. Could it be the table plugging in to the charger or is it likely to be something else?

thanking you

Spiro

Picture looks like it is not for US market (says 230v 50hz, dont see anything about 120v 60hz). Open case and look for loose/damaged wiring. Where are you? Wiring often overheats/breaks at the relay inside the charger.

Yep, 4 or 5 phillips screws on each side. Look inside for physically damaged/burned wires.
