what is the diode in my g14 yamah golf cart for. their are 2 of them.

I believe they are there to protect the controller from the spike created when the solenoid opens (can exceed 1000 volts). It wont run without them. They are about 5-6 bux for them at the dealer. If you have a bad one, go get the real deal at the dealer, dont attempt any "rig-jobs".
