Default Charger won't shut off

My charger recently began to not shut off. It seems to charge ok, comes on after about 5 seconds and after an overnight charge it has remained on. I could smell the batteries out-gassing and heard the boiling sounds from the batteries. All batteries checked out fine as I tested their voltage. There's nothing obvious with the wiring or other components inside the charger. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Measure your pack voltage and individual battery voltages. Maybe you have a dead one. The charger senses voltage to decide when to shut off.

I tested each battery and they all test good.

Ok, so what were the voltages of each battery when charging too long? What was their voltages when they "tested good"? What method was used to determine they were good?

The good news is that the charger has shut off after an overnight charge.
Each battery had 6.5-6.7 volts and the bank total was 39.4.
They showed much higher voltage when on the charger as is normal.
I did not load test them or do a specific gravity test and they are Trojans that are less than 1 year old. I used my DVM for the voltage measurements.
I'll keep an eye on everything .
