First time installing an Alltrax XCT 300 Controller
ok, complete novice here. I am going to try installing an Alltrax XCT 300 myself and replace the stock controller. Any advice or concerns I should be ready for?
BTW - Its a 2007 Club Car Precedent |

Take pictures and tag wires and cables with their locations BEFORE disassembly.

Thanks Dave! I am not starting quite yet, hopefully over the weekend if time persist. Just getting my ducks in a row at this point.

Re: First time installing an Alltrax XCT 300 Controller
Extra connectors You will need:
5/16" ring connectors for 10ga wire for the F1 and F2 Controller Connections If You are changing the Solenoid, You may also need: #10 stud ring connectors for 18-14ga wire if the new one has studs instead of spade connectors. If You are changing cables: 5/16" ring connectors for 16-14ga wire for the Tow/Run power connection to the Solenoid big post. Also, every wiring diagram ever published by Alltrax for the XCT on Precedents is wrong as far as Motor conections. You have 2 options that work properly: Controller B+ to Motor A1 and Controller F1 to Motor F1 If You need to disconnect cables from the Motor, always use 2 wrenches (one in each nut) to prevent the stud from rotating. When disconnecting wires from spade connectors like the Tow/Run switch, never move/rock the connector side to side, pull it straight out, use a needle nose plier if too tight. If You need to put more than one ring connector on the same terminal, always put the one that carries the most current first, that is specially important on the Controller and on Solenoids that have a large surface contact area to transfer current. |

Very first thing to do, disconnect your batteries! Seems simple enough but some forget too!

Re: First time installing an Alltrax XCT 300 Controller
hello men . Ive been reading the forum for a while and really love all the great knowlage shared here. Im currently re powering my 93 freedom w/ 4g cable, alltrax 400 and 200a sol, and a 8.4hp tork monster motor and reading the wire diag it shows a fuse at main + voltage to the key. Ive installed a stout inline fuse holder but the diag doesnt call out the proper amp fuse.Does anyone have any advice?
