Default V Glide question for 98 Club Car DS conversion

Hey folks,

I'm converting a 1998 DS from a 36 V stock system to a 48V system with an Alltrax controller and have a question on the Vglide?

Do I need to replace that Vglide? Most of the stock components (Controller and solenoid) appear to be rated at 36V - 48V.

from looking at the vglide, I don't see any of the coil resistors on it, but have not completely disassembled it. the wiper and contacts inside appear to be very clean (no corrosion etc.)

thanks in advance,
Phil

I think you can use it, but double check with scottyb and he will know for sure. He converts these and sells the kits so has all the technical knowledge to advise you correctly.

Yes, you can use your vglide. It is sending the same signal, but in different way, to controller. Make sure your contacts are clean and it is properly adjusted.
There are posts, not happy with throttle response from vglides, others have no problem.
The MCOR seems to offer smoother operation.
I have a 96 limo running a 500 amp curtis at 48 volts on a vglide and it's fine.
From Scotty's site:
about-alltrax-controllers.html
