Use the lowest range of resistance on your meter to measure the motor brake coil resistance. You are looking for 25.5 ohms nominal. Below 20 ohms is too low and above 30 ohms is too high. The coil heats up in operation and tends to vary outside of the normal range, then fails.

25.8 ohms 1st thing in the morning i will replug 48 volt feed to motor brake and see what happens........ AS I SAID ,,,,, very intermittent.

cart runs fine...... could drag or lockup anytime......

25.8 ohms is very very good, real close to the spec... Intermittent motor brake issues could be corrosion in the harness at the splices, or battery voltage dropping too low, affecting motor brake voltage/current.

could these symptoms just be the very 1st signs of a motorbrake on its

way to failure? also...... what does that lever actually do??
