I observed one side dragged more than the other. Several users said adding washers to better align the caliper with the disc resolved the dragging issue. I followed suit with good results. But the noise and drag returned after a couple of months. I have not investigated the problem further. The brakes still work good. The cart is plenty fast (as ever) and still stops good. And it even tries to roll away. Indicating the drag is minimal. To be clear there never was any noise running above 2-3 mph. Since mine is used 90% for hunting noise is a concern. I did not know if it was a load noise that could be heard from 200 yds, of just a 'whisper' that could not be heard at 200 ft?
This is a pretty good system given anybody with level 2 skills can install them and they offer significantly more stopping power. Plus they have the HD hub integrated needed to repair or prevent the common Ezgo hub failure. The system could be improved with the addition of a return spring to pull the actuation lever back thus pulling the pads away from the disc rather than just releasing pressure letting the disc push the pads away. Is the 'spring fix' something that an individual could rig up, or would it require re-engineering from manufacturer?
Alternative:
Early on we partnered up with wheelsca who made a 4 wheel hydraulic brake kit. The Flag cart was their first 4 wheel install. We sold this kit for years but, most DIYers could not get through the install without difficulty. To be fair the system was fairly involved & bleeding of 1/4" lines is a bich.Is THIS what you refer to? ..... http://www.minichopperssocal.com/CC-DISC-BRAKES.html ..... If not, are you familiar with it?
This kit is still available somewhere on the web. Use your own search engine.
BGW sponsor Cartparts sells the Ausco cable break kits. Find them on the BGW sponsor page.appears they only have EZGO?
We bowed out of our dealership due to sales restructuring which ended our ability to compete fairly.
So at this time, you do not deal with any disc brake company Scotty?

Correct. I no longer sell disc brakes. There are a few options out there but,
none of the brake options out there are without shortcomings.
The Ausco cable disc brake set remains the biggest bang for the buck if you can deal with the minor rubbing pad with the sky falling. You can get the Ausco Cable disc brake kits from the very nice people at http://www.cartpartsplus.com/

Looking at the photos of the Ausco brakes they seem to include two different springs that would assist in the pads returning thereby eliminating the dragging that has been discussed as a potential issue. Not having previous knowledge of these units, I can't say this is different than earlier models. Maybe others would know for sure.

Does anyone know the thickness of the discs compared to the wilwood front kits? could maybe do the hydraulic calipers with the ausco discs.
