Re: New Yewy 36v charger
From what I've been reading on here, these Yewy chargers are pretty awesome. Is that really the case?

Re: New Yewy 36v charger
Wow, it's "low carbon", and "After connect charger to AC power, charger cannot work... Charger damaged... There is high voltage inside the charger. Please don't open the charger personally" or to cause great dishonor to family.

Not much info in it, but enough to make a WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) as to why it isn't completing the charge cycle. I found the attached drawing online for a UY2000. Not the same model, but looks to be same except for output amps. Apparently the charger puts out the CC (Constant Current) amps until the battery pack's on-charge voltage reaches the CV (Constant Voltage) value, then the Voltage stays the same as the amps are allowed to decrease. The "manual" you posted indicates the CV value is 46.0V and in the picture posted earlier, the on-charge voltage is 45.5V, so the output amps are staying at about 20A. It might be the batteries are just too sick for the on-charge voltage to climb to 46.0V, but the charger might be sick. I'd e-mail Scotty and get him involved. I'm curious whether the UY1200Z has a safety timer or not. If it does have one, how long before it shuts down a failed charge cycle. |
