Default Wire size for voltage reducer?

Trying to figure out what size wire to use for my voltage reducer... carts is 48v and it's a 30 amp out put reducer. My instinct tells me to use #10 but the wires coming out of the reducer for the output leads are about the same size as the input leads. Input leads are marked 14awg and has a 10 amp fuse. The output wires have no markings and feel almost like it's a teflon jacketing on the wire...

Red and black are 48v input
Yellow is the trigger wire from keyswitch
Green + and blue - are the 12v output wires.

It depends on the total amp load of the 12 volt accessories. If you are installing a fuse block (highly suggested) then add up all the amps and size your 12 volt output wires per the attached wire sizing guide to the fuse block. On the 48 volt input side, just match the converter's wire size which should be good for the unit's 30 amp rating.

Yes going to a 6 place fuse block. But I'd like to fuse the main line (30 amp) to the fuse block so I don't short/overload the reducer.
All I will have on it is;

-Headlights - street legal kit with turn signals/flasher (led)
-Brake lights
-Horn
-12v accessory port (phone charging)
-Radio (15 amps)
-Spare

I thinking #10 it's just the output wires on the reducer r throwing me off!

On the output side you have a maximum of 30 Amps at 12V therefore that is 30X12 = 360 Watts. So the input side has to supply 360 Watts at 48V therefore it will draw 360/48 = 7.5 Amps

This means that the connections to the reducer from the pack need to carry 7.5 A but you should increase this for safety so, say, 10-15 Amps. The output needs to be able to carry 30 Amps and this is limited to that by the reducer. So the connection to your distribution box need to be able to carry at least 30 Amps.

From the distribution box the load will vary, depending on the requirements of the individual accessories.

The size of wire needed to carry varying currents depends on many things but for this use the following should do:

10A needs 16 gauge
15A needs 14 gauge
20A needs 12 gauge
30A needs 10 gauge
40A needs 8 gauge
