Solenoid Help
Recently purchased a 48v solenoid from Fat Dragon Golf on Amazon. The one I took off the cart had an I and S stamped on it, and the new one does not, only has a positive by one of the small terminals. Any ideas on how to wire it up?

Re: Solenoid Help
On the large lugs it is not important, just land the cables where they fit the best. If you have a (+) and/or (-) on the small terminals, then it will matter how you hook the small wires back to it as that solenoid is polarized and has a built in suppression to protect your field coil when the solenoid opens. You did not state what year and type your cart is, but you will need to land your positive activation wire on the side with the (+) on it.

This OP will need a resistor on the large post to pre0charge and no diode on the small post since he has a polarized solenoid with built in protection. |
