Re: Help me figure out how voltage reducer is hooked up
So you think it is aftermarket (I can't get link to load)? If so I would hook it to 48v.

Yes it looks just like the one in the link. Description says:
Precedent Plug into wire harness and bucket harness on light packages 48v - 12v 18amp Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

Re: Help me figure out how voltage reducer is hooked up
In that case, you know where to get 48v.
To me the purpose of the reducer is to draw evenly on the pack. |

Re: Help me figure out how voltage reducer is hooked up
I agree. That's how I installed one on my DS. But since I didn't install this one, I wasn't sure what he did. I'll will move the blue wire from the middle battery to the OEM blue wire coming off main positive post

Re: Help me figure out how voltage reducer is hooked up
Well the lights are still working hooked up this way. If anything were to fry, it would only be the reducer and/lights which can be replaced easily. But I think all is well now and I'll watch for any signs of trouble. I wish there was a way to test the input voltage going in to the reducer and we'd know for sure

Re: Help me figure out how voltage reducer is hooked up
Should be whatever the pack voltage is.

Re: Help me figure out how voltage reducer is hooked up
Should be but with how he had it wired, it wasn't. If I could test, I'd know for sure if it read 24v and then 48v after I moved the blue wire

Re: Help me figure out how voltage reducer is hooked up
Remove the fuse from the blue wire and see what doesn’t work.
Don’t you have a Voltmeter? The easy test here is to check the input voltage AT the reducer. To me, The reducer looks wired properly. More than likely it wouldn’t work on a 24v supply because of the circuitry in the reducer. The blue wire probably goes to something else. The reducer has 36v to 60v range because a 48v pack can vary from as low as 40v under load to as high as 60v or more during charging. |

Re: Help me figure out how voltage reducer is hooked up
Fairtax, why would the blue wire be hooked up to the battery in the middle of the pack then? I don't see how you can get 48v that way at all. And no, I don't have a voltmeter but I have one on the way

Re: Help me figure out how voltage reducer is hooked up
There's nothing else on the cart to pull from the pack so I don't know what the blue wire would or came from. Unless it was just for the lights cuz the blue wire comes from the harness but if they hook up to 24v, I don't see how the lights weren't fried. This reducer is plugged in in between a 9 pin plug
